Terms of Use
Everything on Deccan Primer is educational material, not advice and not an offer to trade.
Educational material, not advice
This site is educational material and nothing more. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation and not an offer to buy or sell any instrument, and it is not tailored to any reader's circumstances. We do not know your income, your existing positions or your tolerance for loss, so no page here can tell you what to do.
The instrument we write about is gold quoted as XAU/USD, where one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01. Those conventions are stated so the arithmetic is checkable, not so that any particular position size is endorsed.
How Changes to These Terms Are Published
Changes to these terms are published on this page with a new effective date at the top. We do not send individual emails for every update. The current version is always the one live on the site, and it replaces any earlier version. If you continue to use Deccan Primer after a change is posted, you accept the updated terms.
We aim to give reasonable notice before material changes, such as a new affiliate disclosure or a shift in liability wording. Minor edits, like clarified wording or corrected links, may appear without notice. The effective date is the single source of truth. We do not backdate changes, and we keep the page publicly accessible so you can check it at any time.
You can review the terms whenever you like; there is no login required. If a change affects how affiliate commissions are described, the new text will state it plainly. We do not announce changes through trading platforms or broker emails. For your own record, save or print the page if you need a copy of the version you relied on.
Dated figures and affiliate links
Figures are dated, and they must be verified with the broker before you rely on them. Costs, funding routes and leverage terms are set by the broker and can change, so the live schedule inside the platform and the broker's own legal documents override anything written here. The regulator position we state is that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by SEBI.
Some links to brokers are affiliate links, which means we may be paid if you open an account through them. That payment does not change the terms you agree to. Your relationship is with the broker, not with Deccan Primer, and any dispute about an account, a withdrawal or a trade is between you and that broker.
The Law That Applies to These Terms
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts. Deccan Primer is an information publisher, not a financial services firm. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by SEBI. That means the broker's services are not regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India, and Indian investor-protection rules for SEBI-registered intermediaries do not apply.
Because FxPro is not SEBI-registered, you do not have access to Indian dispute-resolution forums such as SEBI's complaints mechanism for these trades. Any complaint about the broker must go through the broker's own process and the overseas regulator that licenses it. Deccan Primer cannot act as your representative. This is a material difference from trading with a domestic broker, and you should weigh it before funding an account.
The site is intended for readers in India, and references to ₹, UPI, cards, and e-wallets reflect local funding methods reported by users. Nothing here is intended to solicit residents of countries where such distribution is restricted. If you access the site from elsewhere, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Indian law applies to the site itself regardless of where you read it.
What You Agree to When You Use This Site
By using Deccan Primer, you agree that you are responsible for your own trading decisions and that you will not treat the content as personalised advice. You also agree not to hold the site liable for losses, as set out in the liability section. This is a condition of use, not a formality. If you do not agree, you should stop using the site.
You agree to use the material for lawful purposes and not to copy, scrape, or republish substantial parts without permission. The calculators and examples are for your own education. You may link to pages, but you may not present our content as your own or use it to mislead others about risk. Gold CFDs are high-risk, and removing that context would be harmful.
You accept that leverage is a cap, not a target. Up to 1:200 is available, and up to 1:500 for eligible traders after experience and a financial assessment, but using the maximum is not a strategy. The site explains the mechanics; it does not recommend a leverage level. Your agreement to these terms includes that understanding.
The Affiliate Relationship in Full
Deccan Primer earns money through affiliate links. When you click a link to FxPro and open an account, the site may receive a commission from the broker. This payment does not change the price you pay, the spread you are quoted, or the terms you receive. It is a marketing fee paid by the broker, not a charge added to your account.
The commission may be a one-time payment or an ongoing share of the broker's revenue from your trading, depending on the agreement. Deccan Primer does not control how FxPro sets spreads, commissions, swaps, or minimum deposits, and does not receive a number for those costs from this page. Always read the broker's own fee schedule before trading.
Affiliate income supports the site's research and writing, but it does not buy favourable coverage. We do not promise that FxPro is suitable for you, and we do not rank brokers by payout. If a page contains an affiliate link, the link is disclosed. You are free to visit the broker directly or compare other options; the educational content remains the same.
What Deccan Primer Provides and What It Does Not
Deccan Primer is an information service that explains how gold CFDs work, how margin and pip values are calculated, and how to read platform tools. It does not provide investment advice, portfolio management, or a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument. Every article, calculator, and example is educational. If you need personal advice, consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser who can assess your full financial situation.
The site does not execute trades, hold client money, or act as a broker. All trading takes place on the platform of the broker you choose, such as FxPro, which serves India through FxPro Markets Ltd. Deccan Primer has no access to your account, cannot place orders for you, and cannot recover funds on your behalf. Any deposit, withdrawal, or position you open is between you and your broker.
Nothing published here is a solicitation to open an account or a guarantee of any outcome. Gold CFDs are leveraged products, and you can lose more than you deposit. The reference price of 4275.0 for XAU/USD is illustrative and changes constantly. Use the material to understand mechanics, not as a signal to trade. Decisions and their consequences remain entirely yours.
Limits of Liability in Plain Words
Deccan Primer is not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, or decisions you make after reading the site. The information is provided as-is, and while we aim for accuracy, we do not warrant that every figure, formula, or description is error-free or current. Gold prices move, platform rules change, and a worked example such as the $85.50 margin for a 0.10-lot position at 1:200 leverage is a snapshot, not a promise.
We are not responsible for the actions of FxPro or any other broker, including delays in withdrawals, changes to leverage, or technical failures on MT4, MT5, cTrader, or FxPro Edge. Any dispute about your account, funds, or orders is between you and your broker. Deccan Primer cannot intervene, refund, or mediate. Your recourse is governed by the broker's client agreement and the regulator that licenses it.
To the extent permitted by law, Deccan Primer excludes liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. This includes loss of profit, loss of data, or damage from viruses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as fraud. If you do not accept these limits, do not use the site or rely on its content for trading decisions.
Risk of loss with gold CFDs
Trading CFDs on gold carries a high risk of loss, and most retail accounts lose money. Leverage magnifies both directions, and the cap available in India, up to 1:200 and up to 1:500 for eligible traders after an experience and financial assessment, is a ceiling rather than a setting to aim at. A worked example: at that cap, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 in margin, and margin is not the same as the most you can lose.
Do not treat any figure on this site as a promise of outcome. Past prices, worked margin examples and platform screenshots describe mechanics, not future results, and a position can move against you faster than you can fund the account.
